Question: What is your view on predestination?
Response: To put what I teach in traditional terms, I am really "neither nor". In my view, human free will and the will of God are not incompatible but work hand in glove. That His creatures should choose for Him of their own free will is fundamental to the plan of God for salvation. On the other hand, this primary principle in no way hinders our omniscient, omnipotent God from planning and decreeing every detail of that salvation for those whom He foreknew in advance would indeed choose for Him. Such things may be impossible and incomprehensible for human beings, but they present no contradiction to our God, and, I firmly believe, this view (over-simplified here, it is true) is what the Bible teaches. For further study see the more detailed discussions of the Plan of God, in the Peter series, lessons #3, #8, #9 and #13, and also especially section II of part 5 of the Satanic Rebellion series.
